Yakutian Laika Lifespan: Health and Longevity Guide

Ozzy Fitoria

Ever wondered how long your furry Arctic companion might stick around? If you're curious about Yakutian Laika longevity, you're in the right place. These incredible dogs aren't just stunning – they're tough as nails and have some seriously impressive health genetics.

What Exactly is a Yakutian Laika?

Before we dive into longevity, let's break down who these dogs are. Yakutian Laikas are hardcore Arctic working dogs from Siberia, bred to survive in some of the world's most brutal environments. We're talking temperatures that would make most mammals curl up and cry.

Average Lifespan of Yakutian Laikas

On average, these incredible dogs live between 10 to 12 years. Not too shabby for a breed that's basically a four-legged survival machine!

Factors Impacting Yakutian Laika Longevity

  • Genetics: Their robust genetic makeup is their superpower
  • Diet: What they eat matters huge
  • Exercise: These dogs need serious activity
  • Healthcare: Regular check-ups are non-negotiable

Genetic Health: The Good and The Challenging

Like all purebred dogs, Yakutian Laikas have some genetic predispositions. Common health issues include:

  • Hip dysplasia
  • Elbow dysplasia
  • Potential eye anomalies

Pro tip: Genetic testing is your best friend here. Responsible breeders will have documentation proving their dogs are healthy.

Not sure who loves it more!

I have the 3 pickiest dog eaters ever and I usually have to get more clever than I want to when trying to get any of them to take a supplement. They needed no convincing with this, they loved it and got so excited when they heard me open the container! I got 1 container and was mostly giving it to my 5 yr old Rhodesian Ridgeback but then also started my Dutch Shepherd on it because he injured his knee playing. We started on a second container and that's when I noticed the changes. I am a skeptic through and through I'm science driven and don't believe anything until I'm convinced with evidence and supporting real life examples and let me tell you.. I'm convinced my Rhodesian doesn't nap as much wants to play ball like he did when he was a puppy and just seems to be over all waggier and smileier! It's wild, we are out of the supplement for now and the benefits seem to remain even though I haven't given it to him in over 2 weeks! The injury my Dutch Shepherd sustained was to a knee ligament and I was told that 6 weeks or more with zero activity would be a quick recovery. Anyone with a Dutch shep knows that there is no such thing as zero activity and both he and I were about to go crazy while limiting, as best I could, playing ball. I would say at best .. we mostly limited vigorous activity for a few weeks but still were active and then slowly added back some fetch and longer walks. With the addition of NAD+ i am quite confident we are where we are now because of it! I can…

    Can’t get enough!

We began using this product about 2 months ago. Everyday she looks forward to her dinner bowl full of longtails goodness! Truthfully, she would eat the entire jar in one sitting if I let her. I’ve noticed her go from lounging around the house to a spry and alert pup. Her mood seems to have changed and she is now roughing and tumbling with her adopted bro, as they did when he was a pup. Thank god for long tails, she needs the energy to keep up with the various little people seeking her attention on the daily. I am so grateful to have found this product.

It’s normally hard to get my dogs to take a supplement, but they loved LongTails. Thank you so much for making this great supplement.
